Respiratory

Flow limitation without arousal

Flattened inspiration that on its own does not meet criteria for a scored respiratory event.

Educational reference, not a diagnostic tool. A scored event, an elevated index and a clinical diagnosis are different things. Follow your facility’s scoring manual, notification policies and clinical protocols.

  • Flattened inspiration alone is not automatically a scored respiratory event.
  • Look for the 20% peak reduction and whether a desaturation or arousal follows.
  • Without either consequence, apnea, hypopnea and RERA criteria are not met.
